MERRY CHRISMAS !!

Well I have to say we had a very great christmas this year !! This year we family spent Christmas with the Quintons . Christmas eve we enjoyed a lot of snacking and games, we did the traditional hogie buns with all my cousins, and opened our PJ's. Londyn had a very enjoyable first Christmas morning. She must have been good this year, her stocking was full and the tree was overflowing with gifts for her from the family. Kevin and I are so blessed to have that little angel in our lives ! We were also blessed to see most the great grandparents on the weekend as well.

Can we say SPOILED

Well I guess it is about time I do another post. I have to admit I mostly started this blogging idea just to see what everyone else is up to. I forget that sometimes people are actually interested in what my little family is up to as well. Well my family is all ready for christmas, all gifts bought, wrapped and under the tree. Everything for stockings ready to go as well. Kevin is working at home now, so can enjoy the entire holidays with us ! We couldn't be happier about that :) We have already celebrated an early Christmas with Penny and her family in Medicine Hat. (Kevins mom) Londyn didn't quite get the idea of opening gifts, although it was pretty late at night when they did the gift exchange and she was ready for bed. Hopefully Christmas morning we can get her to unwrap some ! I am really looking forward to this first Christmas with her in our home !! :)

Here is Londyn all dressed up for the cold weather ! SO CUTE

My mom and I made some stockings, here I dont think she liked them on her head !

Here are the finished products. Thanks again mom :)

Just a couple pictures of our trip to Medicine Hat this last weekend to visit Kevins mom. We went to Echodale and enjoyed the park and the swimming with Londyn and her friend Rylin. We also spent the weekend painting their house out there, we will have more pictures to come. They have a radiant yard that really should be in a magazine, so we got some great ones of L in their greenery. For now here is a couple to look at since I have not posted often.

{ Projects }

I have to apologize, I have not been blogging in quite a while as you can see. Our family has been pretty busy with Kevin coaching the U-16 soccer team every monday and thursday, with some practices on saturdays. Tonight they have a game for the playoffs ! GO TEAM !! Kevin has had a good time coaching, although we are both ready for it to be over. As most of you probably know this age group is hard to handle. I am surprised at how much attitude and lip they have towards coaches, refs etc. and due to all that, I am not sure I want my teenagers involved in sports if that kind of attitude comes out.

So now with soccer almost over, I am sure his next ambition will be the weekly paintball with his friends and family. Every thursday night they do this if there is any husbands out there interested just let me know!

As for me, I have been busy being a mom. I have gotten into making hair bows for my little girl and helping my cousins with their new found business PRETTI U. Although I started making bows with them with the intent to sell, I decided I didn't enjoy making bows when I HAD to. Therefore now I am just helping them with contributions of ribbon and helping them with free labour, so I can use their ribbon for my little girl and my own personal projects. That seems to work much better for me. I have also been trying out some new sewing crafts. My most recent being diaper cases I am still a work in progress in that area, but I figure the more I try it out the better I will become. Recently the new thing for moms is businesses from their home, and I see some of the things they are making, and the prices they are charging, and see that it is things I can make myself for much cheaper, so why would I buy them right?!? I have also recently gotten into scrapbooking much more which I am loving, I think it is my favorite out of all my projects on the go.

Other then that Londyn and I just go for walks and try to get outdoors as much as we can. I am loving this beautiful weather ! I hope you are too... YEAH SUMMER !!!! ( sorry their are no pictures, my husband has to get them off my video camera for me... I can't quite figure out how to haha, but I will have some up next post... PROMISE)

Since Mothers day is just around the corner I decided I would share this little story my grandma shared with me in an email. It is a good tribute to woman everywhere. I can always count on my Grandma Oviatt to share uplifting stories with me. They are often a constant reminder of who I am or need to be. Thanks Grandma, I love you.

{ A WOMANS TEAR }

A little boy asked his mother, 'Why are you crying?' 'Because I'm a woman,' she told him.

'I don't understand,' he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, 'And you never will.'

Later the little boy asked his father, 'Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?'

'All women cry for no reason,' was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, 'God, why do women cry so easily?'

God said:

'When I made the woman she had to be special.'

'I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world,

yet gentle enough to give comfort.'

'I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.'

'I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.'

'I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.'

''I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

'I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.'

'And finally, I gave her a tear to shed.' 'This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed.'
'That tear holds more then men could understand.'

' If a man was to shed her tear it

would look enormous.

'For a woman's tear is full of unconditional love, power, sacrifice, beauty, pain, and compassion.'

'All ten fold of what a Man is able to feel.'

'And that is my son, why I made her as close to being Supernatural.'

'She's my gift to the world she's an Angel on Earth. '

'Love her and praise her for there will be no other here on Earth that will Love you like I do then your Mother.'
'You see my son,' said God, 'The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.'

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides.'

{ Staying Busy }

Ok, I know it has been a while since I have posted anything. I wish I could say more was happening in our lives. We seem to be really busy, but I am not sure what exactly is keeping us that way, other then GAME NIGHTS with friends and kevin coaching SOCCER. Today has just been full of me getting londyns HAND PRINTS and trying to get her memory book updated. The handprints definately made quite the mess, if anyone has any tips on how to get the babies hands out of a fist to get the handprint let me know. I really want londyn to be able to look back and see how small she really was, although that is easier said then done as I have found out.

On a different note I was reading another blog today and found this:

by Dorothy Law Neite

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.
If a child learns to feel shame, he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement he learns confidence
If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.
If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,
he learns to find love in the world.

It really put things in perspective for me as a parent. Kevin and I really need to try our hardest to have our children grow up in a proper home full of love and patience. I think every parent hopes that for themselves, if you are reading this I hope you can keep this in mind for your own home. It is so important especially in the world today to make sure our kids feel safe and have security with their family.

Easter Time is Here !!

Well nothing too much is new with the family. Londyn is growing up so fast, and is starting to sleep through the night much more, which is always a joy as parents. She weighs over 10 lbs now, and is starting to get big cheeks and chubby rolls (which I have been hoping for )Her hair is starting to get lighter and she is starting to outgrow her 0-3 month outfits. Our home just seems so much more whole with her here, we are really enjoying seeing the changes she has brought. I am sorry that she is all we seem to talk about, although right now she is our life.

Well this was a great time of year for our little family, as we had the privilege of celebrating our first easter with our newest member of the family. Londyn's aunt Brettaney helped kick things off by buying londyn a little pair of bunny ears to help her get into the spirit of it all. ( It is sure great having a beautiful little girl to dress up) Our weekend consisted of decorating easter eggs with our good friend Mark, we enjoyed an easter egg hunt out at Grandma Burbanks farm, as well as a nice relaxing dinner in Cardston with Grandma and Grandpa Quinton. We are really looking forward to teaching our little girl about the special Easter season, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending this time with our family and friends. Happy Easter everyone !!

Big Girl !

Well our little girl is sure growing fast. Londyn is now just over 10 lbs, I cannot believe how fast time is going. Kevin is sure loving this stage as she is becoming more interactive and alert. We recently bought her a bumbo chair and a new bouncer. Although she enjoys them now, it will be much nicer for her when she can hold her head up just a bit more. Seeing her beautiful smiles sure make us proud parents. It will be so exciting to continue to watch her grow, but sad at the same time. I don't feel ready for her to be growing this fast, I will miss my little new born !

Well Londyn Marie has sure brought a lot of joy to our home. It is so amazing to watch her grow and embark on new things. Seeing her blessed in church a few weeks ago (Feb 22,2009) was a little overwhelming, realizing we are now partents, and we are aware of what that means. Kevin and I have the responsibility of making sure that she is being raised properly with people around her who love her. Watching her grow has been so fun, as she has just recently started smiling at us and responding to our voices when we talk to her. She is now 8 weeks, and I cannot believe how fast time has gone !! Having this angel in our home has been such a blessing to us and  it's so fun watching her interact with all our friends and family as well.

This was the first photo of our new little family. Needless to say I had a rough day, but she made it all worth it.

Well as you are probably aware, I am a new blogger ! YEAH ! Hopefully I will be able to keep you updated on our small little family, and keep it interesting. Hope you enjoy what we have to say!
